Our Programs, Products and Services
We have and continue to develop customized programs, products and services which are offered throughout multiple environments – in-school, after school, at correctional facilities, through partners’ exclusive programs and a variety of community organizations. These programs are easily adapted for different environments based on specific needs. Before we recommend any approach, we carefully analyze the immediate situation, and once we initiate, we conduct pre-testing for the purpose of measuring results through post-testing at completion of the program.
Our foundation tools and techniques are developed to work within a school environment – and have recently been successfully adapted to encompass kids at risk and situations throughout all community organizations:
- Curricula customized for elementary, intermediate and high schools, police departments and correctional facilities;
- Training Manuals which are provided to principals and educators to facilitate the attainment of program objectives; CFU trainers and technical assistants use these manuals throughout program implementation from planning to evaluation of results;
- Dragon Slayer Curriculum, our curriculum designed specifically to help children overpower their fears.
Council relies on a group of initiatives specifically developed to reinforce its programs including:
- Customized Orientations, Assemblies and Workshops
- Alumni and Friends Association
- Adult and Family Partnerships
- Leadership Development – Council offers a leadership development program to students ages 14 to 18. Youth in the program identify program, school and community needs and develop projects and activities that meet those needs. All program activities are participant-led. The qualities and skills of an effective leader are explored.
- The Arts – Council frequently uses the arts (painting, drawing, literature, drama, dance and music) to engage kids in the teaching of our curriculum.
- Speakers Bureau – a group of men and women are ‘on call’ to schools and law enforcement groups for interventions, school assemblies and one-on-one mentoring. They conduct gang intervention and prevention workshops.
