In 2000, Council established the Champions for Children Award to recognize individuals and organizations that have helped improve the lives of children by furthering the mission of Council for Unity. These Champions have made and continue to make substantial contributions to our children and communities through their efforts and examples-promoting respect, integrity and tolerance.
The 2011 Awards were presented to John “Sean” and Anne Churchill Coffey, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, President and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises and Michael Mulgrew, President of the United Federation of Teachers.
