“Once you start addressing the FOUR PILLARS the kids start looking at everything differently.”—Sean ‘Dino’ Johnson, Director, CFU Speakers Bureau
One of Council’s unique resources is its Speakers Bureau – a multicultural group of ten men and women, paroled former felons, who use their experiences to demystify criminal activity to help reclaim lost youth. They are “on call” to schools and law enforcement groups for interventions, school assemblies and one-on-one mentoring sessions. They conduct gang intervention and prevention workshops.
These CFU members are an invaluable resource to local law enforcement organizations - correction facilities, parole boards and detention centers. These men and women are available for conferences and seminars addressing violence, bullying and isolation issues facing at-risk youth, their schools and their communities.
